NBA Draft Class 1997: Retrospective – Beyond a Decade (and a half) in the NBA

The NBA Draft Class of 1997 is known chiefly as the class that brought Tim Duncan, arguably the greatest power forward of all time, Tracy McGrady, an unstoppable, triple-threat, scoring maestro in his prime, and Chauncey Billups, an all-world, sweet shooting court general, to the NBA.

After more than a decade since the 1997 draft, the class has produced 3 NBA All-Stars, 1 NBA Most Valuable Player Awardee, 3 All-NBA Awardees, 2 All-NBA Defense Awardees, 1 Scoring Champion, 1 Most Improved Player of the Year Awardee, 1 Sixth Man of the Year Awardee, 1 Teammate of the Year Awardee, 1 Sportsmanship Awardee, 1 NBA J. Walter Kennedy Citizenship Awardee, 9 players have gone on to win an NBA Championship — with 1 more than once, and 2 NBA Finals MVP Awardees.

Below is a run-down of all the significant achievements of the 1997 Draft Class in the NBA and the International (FIBA) Stage as of August 2014. Enjoy. 🙂
